What does Spinal Decompression do?

Spinal decompression is a therapy used to treat pain in the back, neck, shoulders, arms and legs caused by certain conditions such as herniated discs, degenerative disc disease, and sciatica. The therapy involves stretching the spine gently in a controlled manner to create negative pressure in the discs between the vertebrae. This technique helps alleviate pain and discomfort and promotes healing by increasing the flow of oxygen and nutrients to the affected area.

Spinal decompression is typically performed on a specialized table that allows the practitioner to adjust the amount of stretch and the duration of the treatment. It is usually done as part of a course of chiropractic therapy and may be combined with other treatments such as heat therapy, ice therapy, and exercise.
